Front: Portrait of the former finance minister of the Bahamas Sir Stafford Lofthouse Sands (1913-1972). Blossom of Yellow elder flower or Yellow trumpetbush (Tecoma stans). Map of Bahamas. Back: Elbow Reef Lighthouse and settlement in Elbow Cay, Hope Town, Abaco Island. Flamingos. Coat of arms. Watermark: Sir Stafford Sands, electrotype "$10" and reinforced cornerstones. Security features: CRISP Evolution. Watermark. Sand Dollar (sea urchin) as a registration device. Butterfly in colour changing SPARK® Orbital™ ink OVI (Optically Variable Ink) in green-to-blue iridescent colours. Consecutively running black horizontal and vertical red serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. De La Rue’s Active™ vertical, segmented windowed reverse-exposed 4 mm wide security thread, bearing demetalized text "10" and an image of the "Sand Dollar". When the note is tilted, the colours of the sand dollar and the number 10 in the thread switch from light on dark to dark on light. Sparsely scattered almost non-existent security fibres, denomination "$10" as well as block 10, the coat of arms, parts of the reverse design such as flamingos etc., the security thread (front only) and the vertical serial number fluoresce while being exposed to an ultraviolet light.
