Remark: The 50c note was replaced by a coin in 1976.

 

* Rodney's Memorial, depicting Lord Rodney as a Roman Emperor, is located on the northern side of historic Spanish
Town Square. The two cannons on either side of the statue have been taken from a French flagship. The canons are
inscribed with the motto of King Louis XIV. In 1782, Admiral Lord Rodney saved Jamaica from an invasion of the
French and English at the Battle of Saints.
