Effigy of the Duchess Philippa of Lancaster and her son Pedro (behind her) kneeling with writer and explorer Fernão Mendes Pinto holding to a staff at the Monument to the Discoveries in Lisbon. Watermark: Queen Philippa of Lancaster. Security features: Running serial numbers (2) on the obverse. Watermarked paper. Fully embedded dotted metallic security strip, 0.5 mm wide. Main colour: Purple. Artist: Pending. Signatures: (Nº1, as depicted) Rafael da Silva Neves Duque (O Governador, 1957–1963); Fernando Emygdio da Silva (O Administrador, 1919–?).
