Front: Muregeya suspension footbridge. Back: Students with laptop computers. Watermark: Rwanda coat of arms. Electrotype Central Bank initials "BNR". Unreinforced cornerstones. Main colour: Tan brown. Security features: Segmented, windowed 3 mm wide Galaxy^®security thread, exposed on one side of the banknote, bearing text "BNR 500" that displays opposite reflections when turned lengthwise. Consecutively running black horizontal and vertical serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Sparsely distributed colored security fibers (hairs), central parts of banknote, the vertical serial number and the denominational block fluoresce under ultraviolet light. Artist: Unknown.
