Ornamental guilloche pattern, lathework and lintels throughout the banknote. Reverse: Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe; Arab Fort) in Stone Town, Zanzibar. Coconut palm trees (Cocos nucifera). Ornate panel. Giraffe's head. Watermark: Three-dimensional portrait of Julius Nyerere; Electrotype 2000. Security thread: Vertical, windowed on the obverse, 4 mm wide plastic security thread, bearing repetitive 'BOT 2000' on it, that has Galaxy® multidirectional motion feature.
