Togo 500 Francs 2013–2014 (2012–2021)

Front: Brass weight pendant in a shape of a sawfish, which is a reproduction of the bronze figurine, which was formerly used to weigh the gold powder among Akan, Asante (Ashanti) and Baoule people (locally known as Mrammou). It symbolises prosperity and fruitfulness in African mythologies. Computerization in West Africa: hand touching a touch tablet PC which is connected to West African countries on the outline map of Africa. Back: Two Hippopotamuses. Watermark: Sawfish Akan goldweight pendant; Electrotype "500". Security features: Consecutively running black horizontal serial numbers on the front of the banknote. Colored filament fibers (hairs), the security thread and denomination "500" fluoresce while being exposed to ultraviolet light. Vertical, embedded, segmented, 1mm wide security thread with repeated incriptions 'UMOA 500'. EURion constellation or Omron rings (doughnuts). Signatures: (Nº44) Tiémoko Meyliet Koné (Le Gouverneur BCEAO, 28 July 2011 – incumbent); Tiéna Coulibaly (Le Président du Conseil des Ministres, 24 April 2012 – 2014). Dominant colours: Orange, brown, lime and purple. Security thread: Vertical, embedded, segmented, 1mm wide, with repeated incriptions 'UMOA 500'. Issuer: Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO). Date of First Issue: 30 November 2012. Artist: Unknown. Legal tender: Yes. Date of withdrawal: N/a. Material: Cotton paper. Printing method: Intaglio (raised print).
