Back: Oil painting "Fall of José Martí in battle atop a horse in the Battle of Dos Ríos" by the painter Esteban Valderrama. Watermark: Portrait of José Martí; denomination numeral "1" in electrotype. Main colour: Olive-brown. Security features: Consecutively running red vertical and horizontal serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Vertical, embedded, 1 mm wide security thread with text "PATRIA O MUERTE - VENCEREMOS".
