Front: Lutheran Bishop of Hˇlar (Church of Iceland) - Gu­brandur Ůorlßksson (1542-1627) who published first edition of the Bible in Icelandic in 1584. Back: Fragment of the First Icelandic Bible. Early printers at work in the XVI century. Watermark: Effigy of Jˇn Sigur­sson (1811 - 1879) Icelandic scholar and statesman. Security features: Consecutively running black and red horizontal serial numbers on the front of the banknote. Segmented 0.5 mm wide security thread. Serial number fluorescing in orange colour under ultraviolet light. Predominant colour: Brown. Artist: Kristin Thorkelsdˇttir. Signatures: (N║42b) Gu­mundur Hjartarson (Governor, 1974 - 1984); DavÝ­ Ëlafsson. Security thread: Segmented 1 mm (obverse exposure). Printing method: Intaglio. Issuer: Central Bank of Iceland - Se­labanki ═slands. Date of issue: 1981 (Law N║10 of 29 March 1961). Redeemable until: 1 June 2007 (well into 2008). Date of withdrawal: 1994-2008. Total issue: N/a.
