Watermark: Boom sailing ship. Security features: Solid, embedded, vertical, 0,5 mm wide, security thread. Consecutively running black serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Watermarked paper. Central parts of the banknote design fluoresce under ultraviolet light. Predominant colour: Brown. Artist: Unknown. Signatures: Sheikh Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sad Al-Sabah (Governor of CBK, from 1-Oct-1986 to 11-Feb-2012); Jassem Mohammad Al Khorafi (Finance Minister, from March 1985 until June 1999).
