Portuguese coat of arms (Armillary sphere + the quinas + the castles). Back: Seaplane Fairey FIII-D MkII dubbed Lusitania, in which Sacadura Cabral and Gago Coutinho left Lisbon on 30th of March 1922. Ship. Map outline of the route of the flight. Belém Tower (Torre De Belem) at the entrance of Tagus River leading to Lisbon. Watermark: Admiral Gago Coutinho. Security features: Running serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Watermark. Segmented embedded 0.5 mm wide metallic security strip. Main colour: Green. Author: João de Sousa Araújo. Signatures: (as depicted) Emílio Rui da Veiga Peixoto Vilar (O Vice-Governador); Vítor Manuel Ribeiro Constâncio (O Vice-Governador). Issuer: Bank of Portugal. Date of Issue: 4 October 1978.
