Front: Dar al-Dahab (Golden Dar Tourist Hotel) in Sana'a. Traditional decorative designs. Reverse: Al-Qahira (Cairo) Castle (Qalat al-Qahira Fortress), in Taiz (Ta'izz). Watermark: State Emblem depicting a golden eagle. Security features: Locally watermarked paper. Black consecutively running Arabic horizontal serial numbers on the front of the banknote. Central part of the banknote fluoresces while exposed to an ultraviolet light. Solid, fully embedded, 1/3 mm wide security thread. Registration device shaped like a stylized octagram. Predominant colour: Red on orange background. Signature: Abdul Aziz Abdul Ghani (Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, 1971–1983). Artist: Unknown. Date of issue: Circa 1970s to 1981.
