The shrine was dedicated to Michizane. Sugawara no Michizane (845 - 903). Reverse: Sun symbol. Watermark: Flowery ornamental design. Colours: Black, green and brown. Signatures: Imperial Treasury red signature seals. Artist: Edoardo Chiossone (1833 - 1898) (designed it in 1888). Issuer: Bank of Japan (Nippon Ginko). Date of first issue: 1930.
