Back: Spider Monkey of the North known in Venezuela as Mono Araña del Norte (Ateles hybridus). Guatopo National Park. Venezuelan coat of arms. Watermark: Portrait of Simón Bolívar; Electrotype "BCV". Security features: Watermarked paper. Consecutively running black and red serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Segmented (windowed), 4 mm wide holographic security thread bearing text "BCV". Spider monkey and five-pointed star registration feature. Parts of the design, the red serial number, the security strip and the colored filament fibers (hairs) on both sides of the banknote fluoresce while exposed to an ultraviolet light.
