The Big Six, - six leaders of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC), the leading political party in the British colony of the Gold Coast: Dr. Ebenezer Ako-Adjei, Edward Akufo-Addo, Joseph Kwame Kyeretwie Boakye Danquah, Kwame Nkrumah, Emmanuel Odarkwei Obetsebi-Lamptey, William Ofori Atta. Coat of arms of Ghana, inscribed with the words "Freedom and Justice". Back: The hydroelectric power plant on Lake Volta and Akosombo Dam. A pile of gold bars and '1' as a see-through feature. Solid reverse-embedded yet semi-exposed (segmented, windowed) on the obverse 3 mm wide red Galaxy® security thread that displays opposite reflections when the banknote is turned up or down vertically.
