Back: An artistic interpretation, motif inspired by the original of floor mosaic of Menorah candelabrum from the Maon synagogue, near Kibbutz Nirim. Watermark: The faces of the pioneers. Signatures: David Horowitz (Governor BOI, in office: 30 November 1954 – 1971); J.E. Yitzhak Ernst Nebenzahl (Chairman of the Advisory Council, in office from late 1950s through early 1960s).​ Predominant colour: Brown. Designers: Jacob Zim, Gabriel Shamir, Maxim Shamir. Security thread: Starting with the 1966 reprint, the security thread in the middle was moved to the left and replaced by a Morse Code signifying "Am Israel Hai" ("The people of Israel live on").​ Issuer: Bank of Israel.
