1000 Francs 2019 (Front: Stylized sawfish which is a reproduction of the bronze figurine which was formerly used to weigh the gold powder among Akan people. It symbolises prosperity and fruitfulness in African mythologies. Health and Education in West Africa: Terrestrial geographical globe, books, chalk writing board, red cross, pharmacy symbol of a snake coiled around a cup, a.k.a. Caduceus medical symbol or a bowl of Hygeia with the serpent of Epidaurus. Back: Two Dromedary camels (Camelus dromedarius) in a desert of Sahel region. Watermark: Sawfish Akan goldweight pendant; Electrotype "1000". Security features: Consecutively running black and red horizontal serial numbers on the front of the banknote.
