Stylised lotus flower designs and traditional decorative net patterns in the background. Reverse: Uncle Ho’s house (Ho Chi Minh's birthplace) in Kim Lien, Nghê An Province. Shadow image: Portrait of Ho Chi Minh; Gently curved ribbon with repeated 'NHNNVN*'. Security features: Consecutively running red vertical and ascending black horizontal serial numbers on the obverse of the banknote. Simulated, surface-applied 10 mm wide security ribbon on the reverse, bearing two '500000' separated by a stylised lotus flower, executed in golden paint. Denominational hi-lite block with vertically positioned "500000" at the center of the front of the banknote and the horizontal serial number fluoresce in blue colour under ultraviolet light. Two transparent see-through windows with the larger see-through window bearing embossed '500000' within an oval shape inside of it. Registration device shaped like a four-leaf clover. Microprint. Traditional Vietnamese ornament executed in golden paint. Tactile feature: Three squares within squares forming a triangle and a bar made up of slanting lines to help the blind and the visually impaired people to recognize the banknote.
